It was on this day 28 long years ago, on April 27, 1992, that everyone’s favorite round pink bottomless pit made his way to the Gameboy. Kirby’s Dream Land dropped in Japan and added what would become an iconic character to Nintendo’s growing roster. The game was a simple action platformer with the twist that Kirby could suck up enemies in his mouth and spit them out as projectiles, or swallow them.
