Today is the official launch of season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. This of course includes the free to play Warzone battle royale mode, which has gotten a little bit of a love with the season 3 update in the form of a hotly requested new mode.

Among the additions in the season 3 update is the new “Quads” mode for Warzone. Initially you could only have a 3-man trio when you dropped into Warzone, or you could go it alone in a solo mode if you wished. But players wanted that extra slot on their squad for their 4th friend to join and make the experience feel that much bigger and more fleshed out.

Other updates to the game with season 3 include changes to loot (like silenced and non-silenced variants of weapons littered throughout the map), future tweaks to the playlist (such as “Scopes and Scatter Guns,” which forces players to use snipers and shotguns only), additional weapons and blueprints, and more.

Season 3 of Modern Warfare and Warzone drops today on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
